The Dependant's Pass (DP) is a primary long-term visa option for foreigners residing in Singapore who are spouses, as well as biological and adopted children of holders of various work passes, including the Overseas Networks & Expertise Pass, Employment Pass, Personalized Employment Pass, EntrePass, and S Pass.

An unmarried child under 21 years of age

A legally adopted child under 21 years of age who is unmarried

* - Annual business expenses are calculated by subtracting the following expenses from total operating expenses:

* - LQS refers to Singaporeans and Permanent Residents (PRS) who earn a monthly salary of at least SGD 1,300 and have been contributing to the Singapore Pension Fund for at least 3 months.

** - PMEs are defined as professionals, managers and executives who are Singaporean or permanent residents, earn a monthly salary of at least SGD 3,600 and have been contributing to the Singapore Pension Fund for at least 3 months.

1 local PME equates to 3 LQS. For example, to qualify for 6 LQS, you can employ 3 LQS and 1 local PME.

S Pass

Expenses associated with the acquisition of royalties, franchises and fees for technical know-how from foreign companies.
Expenses due to outsourcing of work abroad.
The entire amount of remuneration for EntrePass holders.

The application form must be stamped by the sponsor company's seal and signed by the applicant and an authorized representative of the sponsor company.

The passport must be valid for at least one year from the date of application for the work visa.

Dependants of Employment Pass and S Pass Holders: Typically processed within 3 weeks.

Dependants of PEP or EntrePass Holders: Generally processed within 8 weeks.

Important to Note:

The decision to issue a Dependant’s Pass is made by the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) in Singapore, and processing times may be extended by MOM without explanation. During the review process, MOM may request additional documents or ask questions regarding the application. It is the applicant's responsibility to respond promptly to queries and provide the required documents.

Mandatory vaccination for children under 12 years of age

As of February 1, 2019, there is a mandatory vaccination requirement for children under the age of 12 for Dependant Pass.

As of February 1, 2019, the Singapore Ministry of Health has made diphtheria and measles vaccinations mandatory for children born abroad for all types of long-term visas, including Dependant Pass, Long Term Visit Pass and Student Pass).

Therefore, if you are applying for any type of long-term visa for a foreign-born child age 12 or younger for the first time, you must submit proof of diphtheria and measles vaccination to the Health Promotion Board (HPB) for verification before you can apply to MOM or ICA for a visa issue.

Mandatory Vaccinations: diphtheria and pertussis.

Recommended vaccinations: Haemophilus influenzae B, hepatitis B, papillomavirus, pneumococcus, polio, tuberculosis

Timeline for review:

It can take up to 20 business days to verify a child's vaccination records.
